The classic Ye Old Mill ride was originally built in 1921. Over 80 years later, the building and canals were in need of repair. Thanks to a $100,000 gift from Boatmen’s Bank of Iowa, the structure was repaired and the original boats and all 1500 lineal feet of boat canal were replaced. Since its completion in time for the 1996 Iowa State Fair, thousands of visitors have continued to enjoy the historic ride.
