A Quick Update

Hello again!

I’ve been in and out of the office this week, but I’d to report today has been especially productive. I just signed and sealed the last of my letters for the Iowan of the Day program. After I finish a round of emails, I’ll just sit here and wait for the nominations to come in. Just kidding. There’s always a lot going on here. We’re starting to get more donations for the Corndog Kickoff auctions. It’s fun to see the wide range of items we’re getting in. I don’t want to spoil anything though. You’ll have to come and be a part of the fun.

Another bit of news, our quarterly newsletter just came out. I was lucky enough to write the donor profile for this edition. I talked with Charlene Sankey about her and her husband’s connection with the Fair and the Blue Ribbon Foundation. It was wonderful to talk with someone with a passion for the Fair and creating a great experience for future fairgoers.

There’s a lot to see in the newsletter, so I encourage you to check it out. Not only can you learn more about the Sankey’s experience, you can get a sneak peek of some of the other interns who will be posting here this summer. You can also register to donate for the Corndog Kickoff or the Fairground 5K.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!
