PUBLIC RELATIONS/COMMUNICATIONS INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Spring Semester 2008/Summer 2008

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTIONS
The Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation has three openings for one spring/summer internship and two summer internships. Successful candidates will assist the Foundation staff in the preparation of various communication materials including newsletters, press releases, correspondence with the corporate sector and general public, publication design and website maintenance. Applicants will also have the opportunity to coordinate special events, publicity efforts, the Iowan of the Day program and volunteers for the 2008 Iowa State Fair are also available. General office duties include phone calls and e-mail inquiries from potential donors, as well as database administration.

REQUIREMENTS
• Outstanding spelling, grammar and writing skills.
• Proficiency in typing and computer skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter who can work as a team player.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Current sophomore or junior status.
• Course work in public relations, marketing, communications, and/or design preferred, but not a requirement.
• Must be available approximately 8-12 hours per week during the spring semester and/or 40 hours per week early-May through late August. Summer hours may flex dependent upon candidate.
