Spring has Sprung!

I don't think it could be any more beautiful outside today! As I alluded in my last post, on days like this, I try to find an excuse to get outside and enjoy the weather, if only for a minute or two. Well, mission accomplished! I needed to check on a tree location, and with camera in tow, I snapped a few shots of our beautiful Fairgrounds!

Many Fair-lovers only venture to the grounds once a year, in August, but we actually have many visitors all times of the year. As I sit at my desk with my screen door open, I can hear children laughing as they play in the Fun Forest right across the street from our office. I've also seen bicycles, motorcycles, state boards and dog-walkers out and about enjoying the unusually warm March temperatures. The warmer it gets, the faster the Fair seems to approach and I get more and more excited for August to be here!

Here are a few shots of some trees in bloom on the east side of the Fairgrounds:

It's because of your help and support that we can keep our Fairgrounds in prime condition and beautiful in all four of Iowa's seasons. Thanks again for all you do to keep our State Fair (and Fairgrounds) the best in the nation! Remember, the giving program deadline is the end of this week so if you're wanting an item in place for this year's Fair, be sure to get that turned in as soon as possible!
