Meet the New Public Relations Intern!

My name is Chloe Hamaker, and I am so excited to be the Public Relations Intern at the Blue Ribbon Foundation this summer! I am a senior at West Texas A&M University majoring in Agricultural Media & Communications with a minor in Animal Science. I am originally from Van Wert, Iowa, and glad to be home for the summer!

I have gotten to experience the fair in many ways: as a 4-H and FFA exhibitor showing horses, static projects, and my dog; helping out in the Iowa FFA booth when I served as a South Central District officer; on the media side as a broadcast intern on “The Big Show” last summer, and just as your average fair-goer, and I have loved every minute of it! This year, I look forward to doing some of the “behind the scenes” work that helps make the fair possible. I will be helping coordinate programs like Iowan of the Day, Corndog Kickoff, and the Wood Carvers' Auction.

At West Texas A&M, I am a member of the 2024 WT Horse Judging Team, the Secretary of the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow Club, and a charter member of the professional agricultural sorority Sigma Alpha. In my free time, I enjoy riding, training, and competing on my barrel horses, hanging out with friends and family, and just spending time outdoors in the sunshine.

The Fair is coming up faster than we know it, and I am excited to work on projects to help make the 2024 Iowa State Fair one to remember!
