The Corndog Kickoff is still a little over a month away (July 13), but we are getting geared up and excited for it! You never know who you might see, what awesome prize you could win, or what fantastic auction item you might come home with. The other interns and I were pretty excited to see that Taylor Swift (or at least her cardboard cutout) will be at the auction to help raise funds!
You can bid on Taylor and many other awesome items and packages in our live and silent auctions.
If you are interested in participating in the silent auction, we will feature mobile bidding through the GiveSmart App. Anyone can create an account with their name and card information. Using GiveSmart, you will be able to see auction items and bid on them in real time. It is easy to use and helps us keep track of who is bidding on what. Bidding starts at 10 AM on Friday, July 12 and closes at 8:30 PM on Saturday, July 13. Once bidding is done, you will be able to pay for your items and pick them up at the auction.
The live portion of the auction will take place starting at 8 PM. Don’t worry, while you wait for the live auction to start, there will be a variety of other activities to participate in and Fair foods to try. A few of these activities include the chance to win a mystery Iowa State Fair prize, or the chance to win $1,000 in the Winning Piece reverse raffle.
Tickets can be purchased online for $100 per person and will increase to $125 on July 1. You can also buy them at the door on the night of the event.
