Preseason Fun at the Fair

There is never a dull day at the Fairgrounds! Currently, the Iowa State Fair is hosting the National Junior High Rodeo Finals. This has the fair packed! We at the Blue Ribbon Foundation love seeing people from all over the country – and even the continent! 

Admission to the rodeo – held in the Jacobson Exhibition Center – is $18 for adults and $12 for children under 12. The last day of the rodeo is this Saturday, June 28^th.

Be sure to put other upcoming events on your calendar, all held before the Fair.

Central Iowa Railroad Club Open House

June 26^th & July 25^th at 7pm in the Central Iowa Railroad Club Exhibit

• Join the Central Iowa Railroad Club for an open house on the last Friday of the month! Free of charge; donations accepted

A New Era of American Greatness: America250's Kick-Off Celebration featuring remarks by President Donald J. Trump 

July 3^rd at 5pm in the Midway

• America250 is proud to announce a monumental celebration, kicking off a new era of American greatness, featuring special remarks by President Donald J. Trump. This kick-off event will take place at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, offering patriotism, excitement, inspiration, and a glimpse into the grand festivities planned for America's 250th anniversary

34th Speedway Motors Heartland Nationals

July 4^th 8am-5pm, July 5^th 8am-8pm, July 6^th 8am-3pm all in various Fairgrounds locations

• Goodguys will pack the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines the weekend of July 4-6 for the Goodguys 34th Speedway Motors Heartland Nationals. The three-day event will feature over 5,000 of the Midwest’s finest 1999 & older hot rods, trucks, customs, muscle cars and classics! Don’t miss the exciting action of the AutoCross racing series featuring the Optima Batteries “Duel in Des Moines Shootout”, shop the swap meet, enjoy live music and see which rides take home the top awards. Goodguys also treats the fans to their famous Saturday Night Fireworks Extravaganza and on Sunday, all years of American made or powered show cars are welcome for the Meguiar’s All American Sunday celebration

Through various programs and events, the Blue Ribbon Foundation fundraises to maintain the buildings and grounds so they can be used throughout the year.
