If you hear the sound of chainsaws at the 2025 Iowa State Fair, you’re likely listening to Gary Keenan, T.J. Jenkins, and Clint Henik carving their crowd-favorite woodcarvings on Expo Hill. Fairgoers have the unique ability to bring these masterpieces home by participating in the Blue Ribbon Foundation’s 2025 Woodcarvers’ Auction. The auction will be a hybrid event offering both in-person and online bidding.
The in-person portion of the auction will take place at 3:30 PM on Sunday, August 17, at the Penningroth Media Center in the John and Emily Putney Family Cattle Barn. A selection of the carvings will be available for online bidding starting at 10 AM on Saturday, August 16, until 5:30 PM on Sunday, August 17. Online items will be available for preview beginning Friday, August 15, at 10 AM.
Fairgoers are invited to watch the wooden masterpieces emerge as Keenan, Jenkins and Henik carve four times each day of the Fair, August 7-17, at 10 AM, 12 PM, 3:30 PM and 5:30 PM on Expo Hill. Past carvings include wildlife animals, sports team logos and more. Prepare to be amazed when you see these skilled woodcarvers in action!
To bid online, register on GiveSmart here by providing your contact information and a valid credit card number. All proceeds will benefit the Blue Ribbon Foundation’s mission.
We look forward to seeing you at the “Fair Sweet Fair” in a couple short weeks!
