With less than a week away from the sweetest Fair around, let’s look ahead to all the things this year’s Iowa State Fair has in store.
Merchandise
Pick up new charms, ornaments, pottery, hats, and T-shirts at merchandise booths open 9 AM – 8 PM daily. Find us in the Cattle Barn, Agriculture Building, Elwell Family Food Center, Service Center, Varied Industries Building, and the Museum.
Note: The online store is closed in August and reopens after Labor Day.
Iowan of the Day
Join us at 12 PM daily (Aug. 7–16) at the Anne and Bill Riley Stage to honor 10 outstanding Iowans for their service and community spirit. Each winner receives Fair perks and a $200 prize.
Woodcarvers' Auction
Bid on one-of-a-kind chainsaw carvings! The in-person Woodcarvers’ auction is Sunday, Aug. 17 at 3:30 PM at the Cattle Barn. The online auction opens August 16 at 10 AM and closes August 17 at 5:30 PM.
Painting Classes
Create your own artwork with Painting with a Twist. Choose from a guided class or a DIY option. Supplies included. Register early—spots fill fast. Fair admission sold separately. Hosted in the Oman Family Youth Inn.
BINGO
Play BINGO on Aug. 13 & 14, 9 AM – 7 PM outside the Horner Service Center. It’s just $1 per game — win half the money raised per round, with the rest supporting the Blue Ribbon Foundation’s mission.
