The Blue Ribbon Foundation is seeking 100 donors who want to make an immediate, positive, and lasting impact on our historic Fairgrounds by supporting a focused renovation project. Funds raised through the 2026 T.A.G. Team will be used to restore one of the Iowa State Fair’s hidden gems: Legacy Terrace.
Located just south of the Grandstand, Legacy Terrace is a favorite gathering place for Fairgoers looking for shade, seating, and a moment of calm. This peaceful space plays an important role in preserving the Fairgrounds’ cherished park-like atmosphere.
Established in 2003, Legacy Terrace was designed to enhance the beauty of the Grand Concourse. Now, more than 20 years later, the area is beginning to show signs of wear.
While bench slats have been updated, much of the landscaping and hardscaping remains original. Planned improvements include replacing broken pavers and cracked concrete, as well as planting new trees, shrubs, and flowers to refresh and rejuvenate the space. Sometimes, the smallest improvements make the biggest difference. These enhancements will be enjoyed by thousands of Fairgoers during the Fair and throughout the year.
With a $250 donation, just 100 supporters will become members of this exclusive group. As a T.A.G. Team member, your name will be recognized as a key contributor to the project, and you will receive a commemorative pin celebrating your role in the 2026 T.A.G. Team.
