Volunteers Needed
In 2026, the Iowa State Fair will proudly celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, a year rooted in heritage, history, and heartland pride, while also highlighting the innovation and creativity that will shape the Fair’s future.
This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the Corndog Kickoff, hence our theme for 2026: “American Classic.” Mark your calendar for the beloved event on Saturday, July 11.
The Corndog Kickoff auction relies on the help of volunteers to gather donations for the packages. As an Auction Committee Volunteer, everyone has a small part, and together it makes a big impact.
An introductory Corndog Kickoff planning meeting is set for Wednesday, March 11 at 5:30 PM at the Blue Ribbon Foundation office in the Earth Home on the Fairgrounds. We’ll go over what the auction committee volunteers do and provide information on gathering items for the packages.
If you love the Iowa State Fair and strike up a conversation with someone who also likes it, the ask is pretty easy. The benefits of volunteering are knowing you are helping make this event a success so we can continue to renovate and improve the Iowa State Fairgrounds – plus two tickets to attend the Kickoff and a T-shirt, if you’ve met the committee requirements.
Sound like something you could do? We encourage you to attend the March 11 overview meeting. If you’d like to invite a friend to listen and then decide if you are comfortable volunteering, feel free to share this information. For more details, email Brooklin at Brooklin@BlueRibbonFoundation.org.
