Do you know someone who makes Iowa a better place through their leadership, service and dedication to others? There’s still time to nominate them for the 2026 Iowan of the Day Award and give them an unforgettable experience at the Iowa State Fair!
Presented by the Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation and Cookies Food Products, the Iowan of the Day Award celebrates individuals who embody the values that make Iowa special: integrity, dependability, hard work and a commitment to their communities.
Ten deserving Iowans will be selected to receive a memorable day of recognition at the 2026 Iowa State Fair, including:
• $200 cash award
• Hotel accommodations at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown
• Four Iowa State Fair admission tickets
• Four Grandstand concert tickets for their recognition day
• Exclusive use of the Iowan of the Day golf cart
• On-stage recognition and award presentation at the Anne & Bill Riley Stage
• VIP parking
We've already received many outstanding and inspiring nominations, but we know there are countless more Iowans whose stories deserve to be celebrated. Help us recognize the neighbors, volunteers, mentors and community leaders who make a lasting difference every day.
Nomination forms and additional information are available here. All nominations must be postmarked by July 1, 2026. Nominees must currently reside in Iowa.
