Some of my favorite events to attend are on the Fairgrounds, but not during the Fair! You read that correctly. The Iowa State Fairgrounds isn't just open once a year!
The Iowa State Fairgrounds recently hosted a few events that gathered people from across the US and neighboring towns. While you may know the Fairgrounds for the Iowa State Fair, it's a lively venue year-round, hosting a variety of events.
The World Pork Expo, the world's largest pork-specific trade show, wrapped up earlier this month, along with the NSR/NJSA Expoition Swine Show & Sale.
As June comes to a close, we anticipate the 35th Speedway Motors Heartland Nationals (Good Guys Car Show) hosted on July 3-5. This 3 day event features over 5,000 classic cars, trucks, and hot rods. Guests can enjoy delicious food, live entertainment, and other family festivities. The weekend comes to a close with an extarvagan fireworks display for the 4th of July. This year in particular is special because of the American 250th birthday celebration!
What does the Blue Ribbon Foundation have to do with these events?
The success of these events rely on the Foundation's renovation projects, preservation initiatives, and facility improvements. The Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation ensures that the Iowa State Fairgrounds remain top-tier all year round for any kind of event, big or small. The work from the Foundation is essential for making this the desired destination for visitors.
