Hi everyone! My name is Emma Deppe, and I’m thrilled to serve as the Public Relations Intern with the Blue Ribbon Foundation this year! I recently graduated from Kirkwood Community College and will be transferring to Iowa State University this fall to study Sports Media and Communication with a minor in Leadership Studies.
I grew up in Winterset, Iowa, where I was heavily involved in 4-H and spent countless summers preparing for and attending the Madison County Fair and the Iowa State Fair. Coming from a big Iowa State Fair family, the Fair has always been one of the highlights of my year!
Some of my favorite Fair memories include climbing trees while listening to the one-man band outside the cattle barn, taking in the view from the Sky Glider, and grabbing a fresh shaken lemonade from Pioneer Hall, along with so many other traditions that make the Fair unforgettable.
Outside of work, I enjoy going to country concerts, spending time with friends and family, exploring new places with my dog, and listening to Taylor Swift.
The Iowa State Fair has been such an important part of my life, and I’m beyond excited for the opportunity to contribute to something that means so much to me this year!
