The Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation and Cookies Food Products are proud to announce the 2026 Iowan of the Day honorees!
Since 1997, the Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation and Cookies Food Products have partnered to recognize outstanding Iowans who embody the very best of our state. Each year, individuals are selected for their strong work ethic, dedication to helping others, and exceptional Iowa pride. These honorees represent communities across the state and remind us that the spirit of Iowa is found in the people who make a difference every day.
The 2026 Iowan of the Day honorees are:
- August 13: John Emswiler – Algona
- August 14: Alan Erickson – Nevada
- August 15: Ari Lewerenz – Clinton
- August 16: Kelly Penman Jr. – Carlisle
- August 17: Joyce and Keith McClain – Carson
- August 18: Jordan Norton – Mt. Pleasant
- August 19: Ruth Ann Mohr – Odebolt
- August 20: Ronald Ricker – Des Moines
- August 21: David Colbert – Danbury
- August 22: Mary Jean Paschen – Urbandale
Each honoree will be recognized during a special ceremony on the Anne and Bill Riley Stage at the Iowa State Fair. In addition to being celebrated before Fairgoers, each Iowan of the Day receives Iowa State Fair admission tickets, VIP parking, a cash award, overnight accommodations, and tickets to that evening's Grandstand concert.
