Don't Miss Out!

The countdown continues as we have less than 80 days until the 2024 Iowa State Fair! Before we know it, the Fairgrounds will be filled with people attending livestock shows, eating fair food, and attending Grandstand concerts. However, that is not the only countdown we are watching closely this time of year. There is also only one week left to order your favorite T-shirt from this year’s T-shirt contest!

Last week we wrapped up our annual T-shirt contest. Congratulations to Clint Hansen on being selected as the first place winner! His design will be produced and will be sold during the 2024 Iowa State Fair. However, all of the Top 5 designs are up for sale until May 31st, so don’t miss your chance to get one!

In addition to T-shirts, there are also tank tops, sweatshirts, baseball ¾ length shirts, and baby onesies available for each individual design. Check them out and order your apparel at Only the first place winner will be sold at the Fair at our merchandise booths.

Our merchandise stands are located in 6 different locations around the Fairgrounds including the Varied Industries Building, the Cattle Barn, Little Hands on the Farm, the Service Center, the Museum, and the Agriculture Building. These are completely run by our generous volunteers each year. The merchandise items including apparel, pins, hats, stuffed animals, and more.  (Who doesn’t love corndog pants, Butter Cow earrings, or a hand painted “Iowa State Fair” tile?)

As a volunteer, you have the opportunity to interact with the Fairgoers in a variety of different settings including selling merchandise at these booths, selling bottled water, working at the BINGO tent, or helping with other hospitality tasks. In return, you will receive an admission ticket, a parking pass, and a free volunteer T-shirt. If you are interested in volunteering, you can visit our website at

As always, feel free to call us at (515) 262-3111 Ext. 371, or stop by the office if you have any questions, would like to place a T-shirt order, or are interested in becoming a volunteer. We look forward to seeing you at the Iowa State Fair in just a few short weeks- maybe even rocking your new Iowa State Fair shirt!
